Ingredients (Serves 1)

Beef Sirloin Steak180 g
Bell Pepper70 g
Onion50 g
Garlic10 g
Jasmine Rice120 g
Soy Sauce15 ml
Fish Sauce10 ml
Oyster Sauce5 ml
Sugar5 g
Black Pepper3 g
Vegetable Oil10 ml
Lettuce30 g
Tomato30 g

Instructions

Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions. Keep warm.

Cut beef sirloin into 2-3 cm cubes. Mince garlic. Dice bell pepper and onion into similar sized pieces as the beef.

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and black pepper to make the sauce.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until smoking. Add beef cubes and sear quickly on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.

Remove beef from the pan and set aside. Add a little more oil if needed, then add minced garlic, diced onion, and bell pepper to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until vegetables are slightly tender-crisp.

Return beef to the pan. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss vigorously (shaking) for 1-2 minutes until beef is coated and sauce has thickened slightly. Be careful not to overcook the beef.

Serve immediately with hot jasmine rice and a side of fresh lettuce and sliced tomato.
