Steak and Broccoli Bowl with Garlic Sauce

Ingredients (Serves 1)

raw steak150 g
broccoli florets150 g
cooked rice100 g
garlic, minced10 g
ginger, minced5 g
soy sauce30 ml
water30 ml
olive oil10 ml
salt1 g
black pepper0.5 g

Instructions

Slice the raw steak into thin strips against the grain.

Season steak strips with salt and pepper.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, half of the minced garlic, and half of the minced ginger to make the sauce.

Heat half of the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.

Add steak strips and stir-fry quickly until browned but not fully cooked, about 1-2 minutes. Remove steak and set aside.

Add remaining olive oil to the skillet.

Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender-crisp.

Add the remaining minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer.

Return the steak strips to the skillet and toss to coat everything in the sauce.

Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the steak is fully cooked and the sauce has slightly thickened.

Serve the steak and broccoli mixture over the cooked rice.
