Seared Steak with Roasted Vegetables and Rice

Ingredients (Serves 1)

steak, top round or sirloin, raw300 g
cooked rice150 g
bell pepper, sliced100 g
broccoli florets100 g
onion, sliced50 g
garlic, minced5 g
olive oil5 ml
salt2 g
black pepper1 g

Instructions

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Toss the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and sliced onion with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.

Roast vegetables for 15-20 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized. Add minced garlic for the last 5 minutes of roasting.

Pat the steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over high heat until very hot.

Add the steak to the hot pan and sear for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness.

Let the steak rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Serve the sliced steak with the roasted vegetables and cooked rice.
