Seared Salmon with Wasabi-Avocado Mash and Steamed Broccoli
Succulent pan-seared salmon served alongside a creamy and spicy wasabi-infused avocado mash, complemented by crisp steamed broccoli florets.
Ingredients
- Broccoli150 g
- Lemon Juice1 tbsp
- Sesame Oil1 tbsp
- Salt0.3 tsp
- Black Pepper0.1 tsp
- Salmon150 g
- Avocado0.8 large
- Wasabi1 tsp
- Soy Sauce1 tbsp
Instructions

Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Steam or boil until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.

For the wasabi-avocado mash: Halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a bowl. Add wasabi, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Mash with a fork until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down (if skin-on) and sear for 4-6 minutes until skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until cooked through to your desired doneness.

Serve the seared salmon with a generous dollop of wasabi-avocado mash and a side of steamed broccoli. Drizzle a little soy sauce over the salmon if desired.
