extra lean ground beef (5% fat)350 g
olive oil (optional)5 g
taco seasoning mix10 g
water50 ml
corn or wheat tortillas60 g
shredded lettuce70 g
chopped tomato70 g
shredded cheese10 g
salsa (from breakfast or store-bought)50 g

Instructions

If using very lean ground beef, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.

While the beef simmers, prepare your toppings: shred the lettuce and chop the tomato if not already done.

Warm the tortillas according to package directions (usually a few seconds in a microwave or a minute or two in a dry skillet).

Assemble the tacos: Fill each warm tortilla with the seasoned ground beef. Add your desired toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, shredded cheese, and salsa.
