Quick Beef and Herbed Tomato Pasta

Ingredients (Serves 2)

Dry pasta (dairy-free)75 g
Lean ground beef (90%)125 g
Olive oil5 ml
Onion50 g
Garlic5 g
Canned crushed tomatoes150 g
Dried herbs (oregano and basil)2 g
Salt1 g
Black pepper0.5 g

Instructions

Cook the dry pasta according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large pan or pot over medium-high heat.

Add the lean ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried herbs, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Add the drained pasta to the pan with the sauce and toss to coat evenly.

Divide the pasta between two bowls and serve hot.
