Quick Beef and Bean Chili

Kidney Beans100 g
Black Beans100 g
Beef Broth100 ml
Chili Powder5 g
Cumin2 g
Smoked Paprika1 g
Dried Oregano1 g
Salt2 g
Pepper1 g

Instructions

Chop the onion (4 minutes). Chop the bell pepper (4 minutes). Mince the garlic (2 minutes). Drain and rinse the kidney beans and black beans (3 minutes). Measure spices and liquids (2 minutes). Total Prep: 4+4+2+3+2 = 15 minutes.

Heat the olive oil in a pot or large saucepan over medium-high heat (1 minute). Add the lean ground beef and brown, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5 minutes.

Carefully drain any excess fat from the pot (1 minute).

Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the pot and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the diced tomatoes (undrained), kidney beans, black beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper (2 minutes). Stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove lid and serve hot. Total Cook: 1+5+1+5+1+2+10 = 25 minutes.
