Pan-Seared Sirloin Steak with Roasted Broccoli and Quinoa
A classic steakhouse-inspired meal made healthy and dairy-free. Tender sirloin steak is perfectly seared and served alongside roasted broccoli and fluffy quinoa, seasoned with garlic and herbs.
Ingredients
- Dry quinoa120 g
- Water or vegetable broth (for quinoa)240 ml
- Broccoli florets400 g
- Garlic4 cloves
- Olive oil20 ml
- Salt3 g
- Black pepper2 g
- Sirloin steak360 g
- Fresh rosemary sprig1 pcs
- Fresh thyme sprig1 pcs
Instructions

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Rinse the quinoa under cold water. Combine dry quinoa and water/broth in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed and quinoa is fluffy. Let stand covered for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

Toss broccoli florets with 10 ml of olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet. Roast for 15-20 minutes, or until tender and slightly browned.

Pat the sirloin steaks dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper.

Heat the remaining 10 ml of olive oil in a cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
