Ingredients
- Onion50 g
- Garlic5 g
- Olive Oil7.5 ml
- Lemon Juice15 ml
- Salt1.5 g
- Black Pepper0.8 g
- Sirloin Steak250 g
- Bulgur60 g
- Brussels Sprouts300 g
Instructions
- 1Step 1
Bring 180ml of water to a boil in a small saucepan. Add bulgur, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 3 minutes.
- 2Step 2
While bulgur cooks, pat the sirloin steak dry and season generously with salt and black pepper. Halve the Brussels sprouts. Mince the garlic and chop the onion.
- 3Step 3
Heat half of the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the sirloin steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove steak from skillet and let rest on a cutting board.
- 4Step 4
Add the remaining olive oil to the same skillet. Add the halved Brussels sprouts, minced garlic, and chopped onion. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until Brussels sprouts are tender-crisp and lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
- 5Step 5
Slice the rested sirloin steak against the grain. Serve the sliced steak with the sautéed Brussels sprouts and bulgur pilaf.
