Lean Beef and Winter Vegetable Stir-fry with Brown Rice

Ingredients (Serves 1)

Beef Sirloin230 g
Cabbage250 g
Carrot100 g
Onion50 g
Garlic10 g
Ginger5 g
Soy Sauce15 ml
Sesame Oil8 ml
Brown Rice100 g
Salt1 pinch
Black Pepper1 pinch

Instructions

Step 1: Cook brown rice according to package instructions. While rice cooks, slice beef into thin strips, shred cabbage, julienne carrots, mince onion, garlic, and ginger.

Step 2: Heat half of the sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef strips and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 3: Add the remaining sesame oil to the pan. Add onion, garlic, and ginger and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 4: Add shredded cabbage and julienned carrots. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 5: Return beef to the pan. Add soy sauce and toss everything to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes until heated through.

Step 6: Serve the stir-fry immediately over the cooked brown rice.
