High-Protein Seared Steak and Chicken with Garlic Green Beans

Ingredients (Serves 2)

Sirloin steak (raw)100 g
Lean ground chicken125 g
Cooked chicken breast100 g
Green beans100 g
Garlic (cloves)7.5 g
Olive oil6 g
Fresh rosemary2 g
Fresh thyme2 g
Salt1.5 g
Black pepper1 g

Instructions

Trim the green beans. Mince the garlic. Chop the fresh rosemary and thyme.

Pat the sirloin steak dry and season generously with salt and black pepper. Let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.

Heat half of the olive oil in a heavy skillet (like cast iron) over high heat until shimmering.

Sear the steak for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove steak from skillet and let rest on a cutting board.

While the steak rests, add the remaining olive oil to the same skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, fresh rosemary, and thyme. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the green beans to the skillet with the garlic and herbs. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until green beans are tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

Slice the rested steak against the grain. Add the cooked chicken breast to the skillet with the green beans to warm through, or serve chicken alongside.

Divide the sliced steak, cooked chicken breast, and garlic green beans between two plates. Serve immediately.
