High-Protein Beef & Tomato Pasta

Ingredients (Serves 1)

Mince Beef350 g
Whole Wheat Pasta80 g
Canned Crushed Tomato200 g
Onion0.5 medium
Garlic2 clove
Olive Oil0.5 tbsp
Dried Oregano0.5 tsp
Salt0.5 tsp
Black Pepper0.3 tsp

Instructions

Step 1: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta. Cook whole wheat pasta according to package directions (approx. 8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.

Step 2: While pasta cooks, finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.

Step 3: Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the mince beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned (about 5 minutes). Drain any excess fat.

Step 4: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan with the beef. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion softens.

Step 5: Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it cook for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

Step 6: Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the beef and tomato sauce. Toss to combine. Serve immediately.
