Beef and Tomato Pasta with Herbs

Ingredients (Serves 2)

Lean ground beef (90%)300 g
Dry pasta (dairy-free)150 g
Olive oil15 ml
Onion100 g
Garlic10 g
Canned crushed tomatoes400 g
Dried herbs (oregano and basil)5 g
Salt2 g
Black pepper1 g

Instructions

Cook the dry pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large pan or pot over medium-high heat.

Add the lean ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess fat if necessary.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and dried herbs (oregano and basil).

Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Add the drained pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.
