Quick Vietnamese Pork & Rice Bowl

Ingredients (Serves 1)

Ground Pork180 g
Jasmine Rice80 g
Fish Sauce1 tbsp
Soy Sauce0.5 tbsp
Sugar0.5 tsp
Garlic1 clove
Sesame Oil0.5 tsp
Spring Onion1 stalk
Cilantro5 g
Water2 tbsp

Instructions

If not pre-cooked, prepare 80g jasmine rice according to package instructions.

Mince the garlic clove and finely chop the spring onion and cilantro.

In a small pan, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the ground pork to the pan and break it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Drain any excess fat. Stir in the fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the pork.

Serve the cooked pork over the jasmine rice. Garnish with chopped spring onion and cilantro.
