Pan-Seared Sirloin with Sautéed Greens and Quinoa
Tender pan-seared sirloin steak served alongside protein-rich quinoa and a vibrant mix of sautéed spinach, bell peppers, and onions, flavored with garlic and herbs.
Ingredients
- Dry quinoa200 g
- Fresh spinach100 g
- Bell pepper (any color)150 g
- Onion100 g
- Garlic4 cloves

- Olive oil30 ml
- Salt2 g
- Black pepper1 g
- Sirloin steak (raw weight)400 g
- Water or vegetable broth400 ml
- Fresh rosemary sprig1 pcs
- Fresh thyme sprig1 pcs
Instructions

Rinse the quinoa under cold water. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa and water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed and quinoa is cooked. Let stand for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

Pat the sirloin steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.

Dice the bell pepper and onion. Thinly slice the garlic.

Heat 15ml of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Add the rosemary and thyme sprigs to the pan during searing for flavor.

Remove the steak from the pan and let rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes.
