Vietnamese Savory Beef & Scallion Rice Bowl

Ingredients (Serves 1)

Jasmine Rice120 g
Ground Beef140 g
Scallion15 g
Garlic5 g
Ginger5 g
Fish Sauce10 ml
Soy Sauce5 ml
Sesame Oil2 ml
Black Pepper1 pinch

Instructions

Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions. Set aside.

Mince garlic and ginger. Thinly slice scallions, reserving some for garnish.

In a hot pan, add a tiny splash of oil (or use non-stick) and brown the ground beef, breaking it up. Drain any excess fat.

Add minced garlic and ginger to the beef and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in fish sauce, soy sauce, and a pinch of black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until sauce slightly reduces.

Remove from heat, stir in most of the sliced scallions and sesame oil.

Serve the beef mixture over the cooked jasmine rice. Garnish with remaining fresh scallions.
