Spiced Chicken Keema with Whole Wheat Roti

Chicken Breast180 g
Onion70 g
Tomato120 g
Green Chili5 g
Ginger-Garlic Paste15 g
Cumin Powder2 g
Coriander Powder2 g
Turmeric Powder1 g
Garam Masala2 g
Vegetable Oil15 g
Coriander Leaves5 g
Whole Wheat Flour60 g
Water40 ml

Instructions

Step 1: To make the roti, combine whole wheat flour and water in a bowl. Knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest while you prepare the keema.

Step 2: Mince the chicken breast if not already minced. Finely chop the onion, tomato, and green chili. Prepare ginger-garlic paste if not using pre-made.

Step 3: Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent (3-4 minutes).

Step 4: Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili. Sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.

Step 5: Add minced chicken and cook, breaking up lumps, until it turns white and is mostly cooked through (4-5 minutes).

Step 6: Stir in cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Cook for 1 minute.

Step 7: Add chopped tomato and cook until it softens and the oil starts to separate (2-3 minutes). Stir in fresh coriander leaves.

Step 8: While the keema cooks, divide the roti dough into one portion. Roll it out into a thin circle. Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium-high heat. Cook the roti on both sides until golden spots appear and it puffs up (1-2 minutes per side).

Step 9: Serve the hot chicken keema with the freshly made whole wheat roti.
