Chickpea Flour120 g
Onion30 g
Bell Pepper30 g
Ginger10 g
Green Chili5 g
Cilantro10 g
Turmeric Powder2 g
Cumin Powder2 g
Salt2 g
Water100 ml
Cooking Oil10 g
Plain Yogurt100 g
Roasted Cumin Powder1 g

Instructions

Step 1: In a bowl, combine chickpea flour, finely chopped onion, bell pepper, grated ginger, minced green chili, half of the cilantro, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and salt. Gradually add water, whisking until a smooth, thick batter forms.

Step 2: Heat half of the cooking oil in a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin, round pancake (cheela).

Step 3: Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining batter, adding more oil if needed.

Step 4: In a small bowl, combine plain yogurt with roasted cumin powder and a pinch of salt. Stir well.

Step 5: Serve the hot cheelas with the spiced yogurt and remaining fresh cilantro.
