Japanese Beef and Cabbage Stir-fry with Shirataki Noodles

Ingredients (Serves 2)

Beef Sirloin225 g
Shirataki Noodles200 g
Green Cabbage125 g
Shiitake Mushroom50 g
Carrot25 g
Garlic1 clove
Ginger5 g
Soy Sauce15 ml
Mirin10 ml
Sake7.5 ml
Sesame Oil2.5 ml
Olive Oil5 ml
Green Onion0.5 stalk

Instructions

Drain shirataki noodles, rinse thoroughly under cold water, and boil for 2-3 minutes. Drain well and pat dry.

Thinly slice beef sirloin. Mince garlic and ginger. Slice green cabbage and shiitake mushrooms. Julienne carrot.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, and sake.

Heat olive oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.

Add minced garlic, grated ginger, julienned carrot, shiitake mushrooms, and sliced cabbage to the same pan. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

Return beef to the pan. Add shirataki noodles and the prepared sauce. Toss everything together for 2-3 minutes until well combined and heated through.

Stir in sesame oil.

Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onion.
